Loving Nature and Finding Joy: a Silent Insight Meditation Nature-Based Retreat

This four night retreat at Big Bear Retreat Center will deepen our connection to loving awareness for ourselves and for the earth.

Each day will include time to meditate in nature, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the mountains and cultivating embodied mindfulness which engages all of our senses. Whether during meditations, listening to the wind in the trees, or gazing at the night sky, we will open to all the joy the earth offers. As we spend time in nature, we align with our deepest beauty, nourishing ourselves which supports bringing greater freedom to ourselves and our communities.

This retreat will be grounded in the contemplative practices of mindfulness and lovingkindness based in the Buddhist tradition. Each day will include meditation instructions, guided heart practices, mindful walks,  and chanting, as well as Dharma talks, practice discussions, question and answer periods, and time for rest.  You are encouraged to bring a journal for writing and drawing. We will be practicing both indoors and outdoors in nature.
